Fruity Veggie Smoothie

This recipe for a mixed berry smoothie is a refreshing and healthy combination of fruit and yogurt . Smoothies are a great choice for breakfast or as a  mid-day snack.

INGREDIENTS

1 serving dairy (choose 1 of the following: 1 cup milk, 8 ounces yogurt, 5.3-ounce container of Greek yogurt, or 1 cup kefir)

1 cup frozen raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, or mixed berries

1/2 cup baby spinach leaves or baby kale leaves (fresh or frozen)

1 teaspoon honey (optional until you get used to the taste of greens in your smoothie)

Sprinkle of spice, such as cinnamon, ginger, or nutmeg (optional)

METHOD

Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend together until smooth. (If using Greek yogurt, add water if desired to adjust consistency.)
